Dr. Jones is a board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist specializing in Clinical and Research Microbiology and currently serves as President and CEO of The Jones Group/JMI Laboratories. With more than 1,000 publications to his credit, Dr. Jones is an internationally recognized expert in infectious diseases and microbiology. He has a special interest in resistance surveillance and is the head of the SENTRY surveillance program. Dr. Jones has extensive experience in the testing and clinical evaluation of new antimicrobial compounds. He is a reviewer or editor for more than 20 medical journal including Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (AAC), The Journal of Infectious Disease (JID), Clinical Infectious Diseases (CID), and The Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (JAC). Among his many committee appointments, Dr. Jones serves on the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards and The Anti-infectives expert panel of the US Pharmacopea. In addition, he has held academic appointments at Oregon Health Sciences University, the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and currently, the Tufts University School of Medicine.
